It was with a sense of sadness earlier this year that the WPO were informed that a founding father of the World Ploughing Organization passed away on 3rd January at the age of 96.

Arie served as the Netherlands Board Member since the founding of the WPO until 1991 during which time he held many roles including Head Steward, Vice Chairman and Chairman for 20 years between 1972 and 1991.

Arie was made an Honorary Board member of the WPO in 1991. 
He will be remembered by many as an excellent Chairman, a great communicator, a very gentle man and someone who served the WPO with huge dedication. Our condolences to the Stehouwer family and members of the Netherlands Ploughing Organization.
